It's not surprising that green is associated with this country. The entire landscape is green. I've heard that Giant's Causeway (on the north coast) is really something to see. Similar to Scotland in that the farther north and west you go, the cooler the landscape becomes. One note: roads in Ireland stink and driving is not for the faint of heart.
